Are You Worried About Raised Moles?
#

A raised mole on your face or body can be a subtle but significant source of stress. It bothers you every time you look in the mirror, and it’s not easy to cover with makeup. Even if you visit a general dermatologist, they often turn you down, saying, “This cannot be done in one session with a laser,” or “It could leave a large scar.”

I also heard that it would be difficult to remove properly at every dermatologist I visited. That’s when I found out about “acupuncture therapy” (Pichim) at an oriental medicine clinic. Now, three months after removing the protruding mole with acupuncture therapy, I’m sharing an honest review of how my skin has changed.

Honest Process of Mole Removal at Resam Clinic
#

I had a total of three moles removed using acupuncture therapy at Resam Clinic. To give you the conclusion first, they are now pretty cleanly gone. However, the process was not entirely smooth sailing.

It was about two weeks after my first treatment. When I checked the spots where the moles were removed, two out of the three spots still had the roots remaining, meaning they weren’t fully removed. In the end, I had to visit the clinic again for a touch-up (which they did for free). Only after the second removal did the spots finally start to flatten out cleanly. It’s good to keep in mind that acupuncture therapy doesn’t always make things disappear magically in just a single session.

Why I Recommend Acupuncture Therapy for Raised Mole Removal
#

Nevertheless, there is a reason why I strongly recommend this procedure. It is because it works incredibly well for “raised moles” and “large moles.”

It was a raised mole above my eye that general dermatologists were reluctant to touch, but it was pulled out cleanly in one go with acupuncture therapy at the oriental medicine clinic. The progress after the procedure was also very satisfying. If you have been rejected by a dermatologist because of a protruding mole like me, acupuncture therapy can be an excellent alternative.

Acupuncture Therapy vs. Regular Laser: Which One is Right for You?
#

Acupuncture therapy is not the answer for every type of mole. The choice should depend on the shape of the mole and your personal preferences. Here is a brief comparison of the pros and cons to help you understand.

Category Acupuncture Therapy ZIP Regular Laser Treatment ZIP
Recommended Target Raised moles, large and deep moles Flat (not protruding) regular moles, small moles
Biggest Advantage Effectively removes protruding tissue Widely available and easily accessible
Drawbacks Small moles may leave roots behind, requiring a return visit Large or raised moles require multiple sessions

If You Are a Busy Worker, Consider the Time and Cost
#

If you don’t have the time to visit the clinic multiple times, it is much more advantageous to resolve it cleanly in one go with acupuncture therapy. I felt that the recovery period itself was not much different whether you get it removed over multiple laser sessions or remove it all at once with acupuncture therapy and recover.

However, there seems to be no need to insist on acupuncture therapy for flat, small moles. When comparing price and effectiveness overall, receiving laser treatment for normal moles might be similar or better in terms of psychological satisfaction (value for money).

Finally, here is a summary of what I felt at the 3-month mark after removing the raised moles:

  • Raised Moles / Large Moles: Acupuncture therapy is highly effective (strongly recommended if you failed at a dermatologist’s office).
  • Flat Moles / Small Moles: The root may not be completely removed, potentially requiring re-treatment, so you may consider regular laser treatment.
  • Recovery and Time: Since the recovery period is similar to laser, acupuncture therapy is advantageous if you want to reduce the number of clinic visits.

At first, it was a bit disappointing to have to visit again because the roots remained. Still, seeing the large protruding mole—which the dermatologist said would be hard to remove cleanly—now smoothed out makes me feel so relieved. I hope my post helps those who are hesitating.
